Quartet: A Co-facilitated Approach to Couples Therapy
Why Two Facilitators?
Most relationship therapy offers one facilitator. We offer two.
When you come to Quartet, you are supported by two experienced facilitators who are also partners in real life. We understand that relationships involve challenges, misunderstandings, repair, compromise, and ongoing effort. Our own experience is not what guides your therapy, but it gives us a grounded understanding of the realities that couples face.
Relationships are rarely straightforward. There are often layers beneath what is being said, long standing patterns, unspoken feelings, and individual experiences that shape what happens between two people. Having two facilitators creates more space to notice and work with that complexity. One of us may be focused on what is happening in the dynamic between you, while the other notices what each person may be experiencing individually.
Working with two facilitators also offers a different experience in the room. You see collaboration in action, two people working together, bringing different perspectives, and helping create a balanced and supportive environment.
Our aim is not to push you towards a fixed idea of what a relationship should look like. Instead, we help you build skills that create stronger connection: communicating honestly, listening without becoming defensive, navigating differences more effectively, and finding your way back to each other when things become difficult.

Kim
Kim is a co-facilitator with 23 years of therapeutic experience, trained in CBT and hypnotherapy. He brings a purposeful, direct presence to the work, balanced with genuine compassion and a deep attunement to the people in the room.
Through both his clinical practice and his own lived experience of relationship, Kim has developed a rich understanding of relational dynamics, what creates connection, what erodes it, and what it takes to rebuild.
Kim works actively and collaboratively, helping couples identify unhelpful patterns, improve communication, and make meaningful changes that strengthen connection, passion, and trust.
Stevie
Stevie is a co-facilitator whose role is grounded in careful observation, deep listening, and reflective presence, creating space for multiple perspectives and ensuring the full complexity of relational dynamics is thoughtfully explored.
Currently training as a humanistic integrative counsellor, Stevie’s approach is rooted in the belief that every person holds the capacity for growth and meaningful change. She brings warmth, emotional intelligence, and genuine care to the work, alongside a background in somatic movement therapy.
Stevie has a natural ability to attune to subtle relational patterns and reflect these back in a way that feels compassionate, grounded, and non-judgemental.
What You Can Expect from the First Session
Our intention is that:
You will both be truly heard
We begin by taking time to understand the difficulties you are experiencing, listening carefully and reflecting back what we hear, so you each feel understood and confident that what matters most to you has been grasped.
Your goals matter
We will explore what each of you is hoping for, both individually and as a couple, so that your personal goals and your shared vision are at the core of everything we work on together.
A plan built around you
We will create a tailored treatment plan with you, including the specific approaches, exercises, and areas of focus most likely to help you address your difficulties and reach the outcomes you are looking for.
You will leave with clarity and direction
By the end of your first session, you will have a clearer picture of your relationship patterns, a sense of having been genuinely listened to, and real confidence that there is a practical, personal path forward.
