Confidence

Confidence

Confidence is something we’re all born with, it’s just that many people have forgotten it along the way. I mean, imagine a baby being scared to cry in public or a having a poor body image. Insecurity is something we learn along the way and fortunately confidence is something we can relearn by changing certain beliefs and utilising simple techniques and procedures.

Some beliefs relating to lack of confidence are:

Two things about beliefs are that they are not necessarily true, despite the fact that they often seem this way and that they are impermanent. Many people used to believe in Father Christmas, but most people grow out of this belief at some point or other (sorry if I’ve burst your bubble!).

So what is it that confident people are doing?

Well firstly, they are not usually confident about everything going alright all of the time. Life is uncertain for us all, confident or not.

What confident people are doing is being able to relax with this uncertainty. This allows people to take risks and as fortune favours the bold this is also one reason why confident people just seem to get better deal in life.

Another thing that confident people are doing is looking at the reality of a situation. For example, if we receive a compliment, most times we actually deserve it.

Those who feel insecure a more likely to dismiss it, saying something like ‘they’re just saying that because they feel sorry for me’ or ‘they must want some thing from me’ whereas confident people have the tendency to accept that compliment.

If you have been suffering from low confidence and you’re reading this then I must commend you because you are already starting to step out of that comfort zone.

Hypnotherapy is a great learning tool to support you in building your confidence in a clear, easy and simple way.

Here are some confidence issues that Hypnotherapy can be successfully used with:

Depression

Depression

If you have been feeling depressed then you are probably suffering irritability, stress, waking up still feeling tired, having little or no motivation to do things with a lack of hope for the future, and feeling over emotional, sometimes for no reason.

As a result of incomplete emotional responses that are caused by stress, anxiety, negative self talk and other factors, the mind tries to resolve these issues through the dreaming part of the sleep (the REM state).

This REM state makes up only part of the sleeping process when you are in a healthy frame of mind. However, when people become depressed the REM fires off for much longer times and uses a considerable amount of energy, often causing people to wake up early and/or be tired upon awaking. This affects our concentration and motivation often resulting in a loss of interest in the things we used to do and enjoy.

Fortunately this new research helps us to understand the cause of depression and thus we are able to treat it quickly and simply.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

O.C.D.

The symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder include:

O.C.D. can be a highly destructive pattern, causing the person suffering the complaint a huge amount of distress.

Hypnosis can be used to aid relaxation and thus immediate decrease the anxiety it can cause, while also re-programming thoughts, actions and behaviours on a deep unconscious level.

One of the great things about people who have suffered from O.C.D. is that they typically have a huge amount of motivation and willingness to put things into action. This can easily be seen in the behaviours exhibited.

When you utilize these natural behaviours towards positive areas of your life, you can completely transform your life.

Please give me a call for your free 30 minute consultation to see if I can help support you through this issue.

Panic Attacks

Panic Attacks (a.k.a. Inappropriate Exercise response)

Often times, people who suffer from panic attacks fear that there is something physically wrong, that they are going to have a heart attack. Occasionally some people feel that they are going mad or will completely lose control.

Many people suffering from panic attacks will often experience some or all of the following symptoms:

Panic attacks are simply the result of the body’s defence mechanism becoming over sensitive to the given situation and is located in one of the earliest parts of the brain. This part reacts quicker than our rational capabilities.

In evolutionary terms this is an excellent survival mechanism. If we need to run away from a lion, we do not want to be sitting around contemplating our next course of action; we want to react automatically and instantaneously. This also explains why we can’t ‘think’ our way out of the panic attack.

Fortunately, there are simple and highly affective techniques that allow the brain to reprocess the information.

These are very gentle methods that allow the participant to free themselves of panic attacks (and Phobia’s) in the most comfortable way possible.

This means that panic attacks can be eradicated in as little as one session even with people who have been suffering from them for many years.

If you have been suffering from panic attacks, then take action now to free yourself of this complaint for good. Please make sure that you find the right therapist for you, using the safest method possible.

You are welcome to call me and book your free 30 minute consultation to see how I can help you overcome this issue.

Phobias

Phobia (Intense Fears)

A phobia is very similar to a panic attack with the distinction that it is specifically related to a particular thing i.e. fear of flying, spiders, snakes etc.

Fortunately, there are very simple and highly effective techniques that allow the brain to reprocess the information. These safe and gentle methods allow the participant to free themselves of phobias in the most comfortable way possible.

The approach to working with Phobia’s (and Panic Attacks) is an important factor in people’s recovery from this complaint as some therapists will ask clients to relive their experiences over and over, potentially causing the traumatic memory to be imprinted further.

With these techniques, Phobia’s can be eradicated in as little as one session even with people who have been suffering from them for many years.

Sexual Abuse

Firstly, I would like you to know that I treat all my clients with the utmost sensitivity and respect confidentiality at all times.

I understand the nature of this issue can make people reluctant to seek support as going over traumatic events can be traumatic events in themselves. This is why I never ask clients to repeatedly ‘relive’ their experience by going over and over the details. I would like you to note that if you wish to talk about any incidents I will also be compassionate in my listening.

If it would be preferable for you, I can work with this issue without even discussing what actually happened. This process is called working ‘content free’ and is excellent at helping people to put the past in the past and get on with their lives in the present.

Of course the memories will never be pleasant ones, but what happens when we work in this way is that the emotional charge becomes drained from the event and we are then disassociated from what happened. This is not to be confused with denial, repression or any other harmful connotation. Being disassociated from any traumatic event is a healthy functioning of the mind and body that enables us to see things objectively. Therefore if one wanted to, one would be able to look at what happened without that old feeling of anxiety, fear, dread or any other of those deeply negative feeling associated with the event/s.

If sexual abuse has been an issue for you, then I commend you for taking the first steps to finding support and advise that you search around for the right therapist to help you with the matter.

Feel free to call me for a complimentary 30 minute consultation to see how comfortable you can feel working with me.

Please note: It occasionally occurs that some therapists inform their clients of their belief that the client has been sexually abused while the client has memory of this.

Hypnotherapy is not a reliable form of memory regression and should not be used in this scenario.

In such an instance I highly recommend you look at the work carried out by Dr. Michael Yapko and call me for more information.

Looking at all the symptoms, it’s no wonder that stress is the single biggest cause of sickness absence in the UK, and costs the industry £3.7 billion each year. With one in five people in employment reported as being stressed, if you are feeling stressed, then you’re not alone.

How we do stress.

In order to be stressed we have to imagine future scenarios turning out pretty badly. Stress is rarely based in the present moment. This often leads us to feel overloaded usually by the things we have to do. This can be a specific event or a number of tasks we have to perform.

You can use Hypnotherapy to help you to break down those goals access a deeply relaxed state and rehearse future scenarios with positive outcomes for maximum efficiency.

Feel free to call to your complimentary 30 minute consultation to see whether I can help you relieve the stress in your life and overcome the obstacles that have been holding you back.
